Scholarships



I. Purpose

Part of the North Central Business Travel Association's (NCBTA) mission statement is to provide avenues for advancement in the travel industry for its members. All scholarship funds will be used to support the professional advancement/development of NCBTA members.

2010 Scholarship Opportunity

NCBTA announces a newly revamped scholarship program! We will be rewarding scholarships in the following designations and amounts to qualified Direct and Allied Members:
  • $1,500 Scholarship towards a travel-related educational curriculum
  • Corporate Travel Executive (CTE) (value of $500)
  • NCBTA Education Day (including CCTE certification fee)

II. The Program

A. Types of Scholarship
Scholarships for qualified individuals to participate in any travel related course recognized by NBTA. A complete listing of the opportunities available can be found on the NBTA website. Examples include:
  • NetSmart
Fundamentals of Business Travel Management/Corporate Travel Expert (CTE)
Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE)
Global Leadership Professional Program (GLP), or
Annual NBTA Convention
NCBTA Education Day scholarships for qualified individuals to participate in this year's NCBTA Education Day, Scholarship includes CCTE Certificate fee if applicable.
B. Timeframe
  1. Scholarship applications must be submitted by April 1, 2010.
  2. Scholarship winners will be announced at the May Educational Summit (May 13, 2010).
  3. Winners will be notified prior to announcement on May 1, 2010.

III. Eligibility Requirements

A. Applicant must be a NCBTA member in good standing.

B. Applicant must comply with all schedules and requirements pertaining to the scholarship application process.


IV. Application Process
A. Application Procedure 
  1. Complete and submit applications by April 1, 2010.
  2. Include a brief summary of how this scholarship will benefit you. 
  3. Only Electronic submissions will be accepted. 
B. Review and Selection
  1. Applications are treated as privileged communication and are restricted to the review of the NCBTA Scholarship committee and the Board of Directors.
  2. Applications will be reviewed by the NCBTA Scholarship committee and recommendations made to the Board of Directors.
  3. The decision to grant or not grant a scholarship rests within the sole discretion of the NCBTA Board and shall be final and binding and not subject to challenge.

V. Payment of Scholarship

A. Scholarship funds may be used solely for tuition and registration fees.

B. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the scholarship recipient after completion of the program.

C. Scholarship recipient will be responsible for providing NCBTA with the invoices/receipts which should be mailed to:
